In the state of there seems to be a constant debate and sometimes argument that surrounds the massively popular table card game of Blackjack. This is because of the fact that the game of Blackjack is one of the biggest money makers in the United States of America, and the lawmakers in the Florida Government want to make sure that they are getting the kind of cut that they feel that they deserve. It is no secret that the state of Florida has a large debt that is looming over their heads, so the inclusion of some Blackjack profit would greatly cushion their fall. Within the last Blackjack compact that was considered, the Seminole Tribe of Florida would have to give the state of Florida over eight billion dollars over the next twenty years for their right to own and operate the game of Blackjack within the walls of their seven brick and mortar casinos in the southern portion of the state. The lawmakers want more of a cut that the Tribe is willing to give them, and the Tribe wants to expand the game of Blackjack beyond what the Florida government feels is appropriate. It is a catch twenty two that is going to have to be resolved soon before a Federal agency gets involved.
Many lawmakers in the Florida government have expressed concern that they would like to see more representation from the pari-mutuel industry during these negotiations. This struggling sector of the Florida gaming market is the element that stands the most to lose over the course of these negotiations.
