Atlantic City's uniqueness might be challenged

The east coast gambling mecca of Atlantic City is definitely an iconic place to go and play a series of intense hands of the massively popular table card game of Blackjack.  The reason for this being is that Atlantic City is one of the only places in the north eastern United States that allows is patrons to play in a casino environment that is reminiscent of Las Vegas.  While it is true that the early plans of Atlantic City were to replicate a lot of the Las Vegas aesthetic, over the years it really has come into its own as a place to play a good game of Blackjack.

On the other side of things, the uniqueness of that city is starting to be challenged because of the fact that surrounding states of Pennsylvania and Delaware are beginning to open and expand their brick and mortar casino business to include table card games like Blackjack and poker for the sole purpose of keeping some of the traveling patrons in the state in which they reside.  It is a start move for the surrounding states that is making Atlantic City rethink how they are going to appeal to a crowd of patrons who are less likely to travel long distances because of the resulting costs.

Jim Wortam, former Atlantic City Casino Executive, recently said that if you put table games in Pennsylvania, why would a Pennsylvania native take a two hour drive to Atlantic City.  Only time well time how the situation is ultimately handled.
