Thoughts To Avoid In Blackjack

The decision that the player makes can effect the way the dealer plays his or her card

At some point in anybody’s gambling career he or she is going to rely on superstition at least in some capacity.  For some people it may be an actual psychological belief and for others it may just be a way to justify to themselves that they have lost a good chunk of hands, but the bottom line of the situation is that most of the time the superstition is based on an element of Blackjack that does not make any sense.  Below is an example or two that sheds some light on the nature of certain Blackjack superstitions.

One of the most common superstitions in the expansive nature of the Blackjack community it is belief that having a bad Blackjack player at your table will eventually make you lose more hands than you win.  The foundation of this belief my be rooted in the thought process that there lack of knowledge about the game will at some point effect the kind of cards that have, which will ultimately make you lose some hands that you would have otherwise won.  Bad plays made by novice players can affect other players' hands, but they can also affect the dealer's hand.  Many say that the most critical spot on the Blackjack table is the position that is known as “third base.”  This is the player that makes the last play before the dealer acts.  The decision that the player makes can effect the way the dealer plays his or her card, which in turn could effect everybody else’s hands.
