No one knows truly where all the interesting theories and superstitions occur in the massively popular table card game of Blackjack. The only thing that you can do as a Blackjack player is to wade through all of the static for the sole purpose of developing a Blackjack strategy that works for how you like to play the game. In fact, coming in contact with the bogus strategies could actually improve your knowledge of the game because of the fact that you will have an even better idea of what not to do in your game. At the end of the day that could not hurt your chances of winning some big money, so it might be worth considering at some point during your Blackjack career. Here is an example or two of some situations and superstitions that have been known to give players some second thoughts.
One common but mis-guided belief is that a picture during a series of intense Blackjack hands follow yet another picture card. In other words, if you are dealt a face card and it is your turn to hit next right after, keep the stiff hand that you have because there is a very good chance that you will bust. No matter how many decks are in a Blackjack shoe, face cards only make up for about thirty one percent of the deck (sixteen of fifty two cards). If you see two picture cards, the percentage drops to twenty eight. In other words, if you see a picture card there is a two to one chance that the next card that you are dealt will not be a face card. Those odds are not very good, but sometimes you have to take risks in Blackjack.
