In the southern state of Florida it is getting harder and harder for the Seminole Tribe of Florida to reach an agreement in whether they can offer the massively popular table card game of Blackjack within the walls of their seven brick and mortar casinos in the southern portion of the state. Although they, in concert with the Florida government have been trying to make something happen for the better part of two years, it does not seem like there is much progress being made on the part of the greater good of the Blackjack compact. Many people within the expansive nature of the Blackjack community are say that the most recent legislative committee was wrong to shred the latest gambling agreement reached by current Governor Charlie Crist and the Seminole Tribe. Because of this many say that the state now risks losing more than one hundred million dollars a year in potential Blackjack revenue. While the political popularity of the game of Blackjack is on shaky ground, the gamers that come to the brick and mortar casinos are as happy as every to engage in a series of intense hands.
Some say that hope still remains for another negotiated settlement that would send a cut of the gambling profits to the state treasury without significantly increasing gambling. The state legislature has been trying their best to get a deal done in the quickest amount of time. While this might be a long ways off, profits are still looking good for the Tribe if and when the game of Blackjack starts back up.
